Overview
Senior Transport Planner – Birmingham. Due to growth, my client is looking for a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to join their thriving team in the Birmingham office. The team has developed a wide-range of projects and clients that cover a diverse set of schemes all across the UK, including Residential, Retail and Education. This would help the workload from the Bristol and Birmingham offices.
Responsibilities
- Working on and managing complex Transport Planning Projects
- Taking lead on the development and delivery of the Projects
- Working on the promotion of development sites from Site Identification/acquisition, plus planning applications, submission and discharge of planning conditions
- Collaborating with the Transport team to deliver high-quality Consultancy Advice, liaising with clients to understand requirements and effectively manage resources
- Supporting and mentoring more junior staff and continuing project management and commercial skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Firm understanding of Transport Planning Policy and delivery of projects to clients
- Experience with Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans
- Parking Strategies, Sustainable Transport, Section 278 and 106 agreements and guidance such as NPPF
- Use of the TRICS database
- Working knowledge of PICADY and ARCADY, and an understanding of LINSIG
- Transport Modelling, and why this is useful
- Junction design (Roundabout, Signals)
