We are working with a long-standing award-winning, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy. They deal in Civil and Structural Engineering, Geo-Environmental works, development planning and land Building Surveying. Their diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes.
The role:
- Lead design of civil engineering schemes from initial concept to detailed design, including designs of roads, drainage, earthworks, and other infrastructure elements.
- Ensure designs are technically compliant with relevant regulations, standards and best practice.
- Manage the technical aspects of multiple projects, overseeing the planning and delivery of designs.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure projects are on time and to budget.
- Maintain regular communication and strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and conduct surveys to inform design.
- Resolve design issues on-site, ensuring works are being implemented in line with design specifications.
The perfect candidate will have:
- 5+ years of Highway Design experience and will have worked on similar projects.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Relevant Degree or HND qualified (or equivalent).
- Good experience and understanding of highway and drainage design.
- Familiarity with S38, S104, S185, and S98 Drainage Approvals.
- Proficiency in software packages: AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroDrainage and PDS.
- Fresh ideas regarding SuDS.
- A willingness to mentor junior Engineers.
