The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of a Scheme cleaner within a housing environment. Our client is ambitious and has a huge 5-year plan which we are seeking a Scheme cleaner to assist with. Their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones, creating vibrant, thriving communities.
Role:
- Cleaning of all communal areas of the Independent Living Schemes.
- Supporting customers by addressing any areas of concern where identified.
- Carry out weekly flushing of communal water outlets in line with Legionnaire checks and sign off on the schedule.
- Assist with compliance tasks, including fire alarm testing.
- Providing a laundry service in conjunction with Independent Living.
- Ensuring that the Support Laundry Procedure is adhered to.
- Being responsible for making sure cleaning supplies are well stocked.
- Report management problems identified to the relevant people.
- Undertake any duties necessary to keep the premises and their surroundings clean and in good condition, including guest room beds and laundering sheets where required.
- Comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and associated policies and procedures insofar as they relate to the duties of the post.
- Assisting in the resolution of complaints and enquiries by providing information, as requested.
- Participate fully in effective health and safety management practices and risk minimisation control measures.
The Candidate needs:
- Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in accordance with specified schedules.
- Experience of managing a small laundry service is desirable.
- Evidence of the ability to maintain accurate customer records and basic financial information.
- A service-orientated outlook and attitude with a genuine desire to go the 'extra mile'.
- Evidence of the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers.
- Experience of prioritising own work and responding flexibly to changing needs, in an organised manner paying attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations (General) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
- Full clean driving licence and/or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to visit other sites, frequently located in areas not covered by public transport.
- Moderate flexibility as may occasionally need to work outside of normal working hours including evenings or weekends.
- Demonstrate clients’ Values and Behaviours.
SUMMARY: This is a Perm, Part-time role, working a 19-hour week over 5 days. The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
