The Estimating role involves managing projects up to £2 million in value and working closely with clients, consultants, and suppliers to deliver accurate, competitive, and well-structured bids. While experience in building maintenance or commercial construction is preferred, the right candidate with strong numeracy, sales acumen, and the ability to learn estimating processes will be considered.

  • Obtain pricing and prepare complete, timely submissions
  • Assess project costs and business risk, ensuring bids meet client specifications
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts and follow up submitted quotations
  • Provide detailed handover information to the operations team for successful bids
  • Monitor project delivery to ensure costs align with forecasts, client care is maintained, and communications with the operations team are effective

Skills & Experience:

  • Understanding of project management, planning, or scheduling
  • Prior experience in managing bids/projects up to Ā£2 million
  • Proven experience preparing tenders and quotations
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard business applications
  • Full driving licence; enhanced DBS check required

Why This Role:

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with real opportunities to influence the success of the business. The team values proactive, customer-focused individuals who are keen to develop their estimating and sales skills within a supportive and professional environment.
