Quantity Surveyor – Painting & Refurbishment Projects Location: Cumbria, Carlisle Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Up to £40,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits We’re currently hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage painting and refurbishment contracts across Cumbria, Carlisle. This role is ideal for a commercially focused professional with a strong background in planned maintenance, repairs, and redecoration projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and price tenders for painting and planned refurbishment works Lead projects from start to finish, ensuring cost control and margin improvement Produce and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and financial forecasts Administer subcontractor packages and applications for payment Evaluate bills of quantities and schedules of rates accurately Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget Requirements: Qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma or equivalent) Proven experience in painting, refurbishment, or planned maintenance sectors Commercially strong with knowledge of contracts, procurement, and reporting Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools Excellent organisation and time management skills Comfortable working with both direct labour and subcontractors Benefits Package: Competitive salary (dependent on experience) 31 days holiday including bank holidays, with buy/sell options Car allowance and fuel card Annual bonus scheme Company pension contributions Life assurance and paid maternity/paternity leave Cycle to Work scheme, flu jab, PPE provided Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Why Apply?
