Are you an experienced BIM professional looking to take the lead in digital engineering and Building Information Modelling within a multidisciplinary consultancy? This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's most established built environment consultancies, helping to shape digital delivery across a wide range of building services projects.

Working as part of an experienced Building Services team, you'll play a key role in driving BIM excellence, developing digital standards, and leading project delivery across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, industrial, defence and public sector developments. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with strategic responsibility, making it ideal for someone looking to influence the future of digital construction.

The business has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions while investing heavily in technology, collaboration and employee development. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary design teams, contributing to complex projects from concept through to completion.

This is primarily an office-based role, with attendance expected in the Plymouth office at least four days per week to support collaboration and project delivery.

The Role

As the Digital Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading BIM implementation across Building Services projects while supporting the continuous development of digital engineering standards and best practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading BIM coordination across multidisciplinary Building Services projects
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)
  • Managing Revit models throughout all project stages
  • Coordinating models with architects, structural engineers and external consultants
  • Implementing BIM workflows in accordance with ISO 19650 standards
  • Carrying out clash detection using Navisworks and resolving coordination issues
  • Supporting innovation in digital design and construction processes
  • Managing asset information throughout the project lifecycle
  • Attending client meetings relating to digital delivery and asset information requirements
  • Producing and delivering final asset data for project handover
  • Supporting continuous improvement of internal BIM standards, procedures and digital workflows
  • Providing technical guidance to project teams on BIM best practice

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience within a BIM or Digital Engineering role in the Building Services sector
  • Strong experience using Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks
  • Good understanding of BIM standards including ISO 19650
  • Experience producing and managing BIM Execution Plans
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Autodesk BIM 360 or ProjectWise
  • Experience managing asset information and digital handover requirements
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive approach to improving digital delivery processes
  • Qualifications within Building Services, Engineering, Architectural Technology or Digital Construction are desirable but not essential
