A well-established and growing M&E contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join its South West team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong pipeline of work across the Defence, Education and Healthcare sectors. Projects typically range from £2m+ in value, and you will be responsible for either leading a major project or overseeing a number of smaller schemes concurrently.
The Role
- Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from contract award through to completion and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Procure materials, plant and subcontract packages.
- Manage programme and progress monitoring.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Manage commercial and operational performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and contractual requirements.
- Work closely with project teams to drive successful project outcomes.
- Deliver projects under JCT and Design & Build contracts.
About You
- Experienced Mechanical Contracts Managers or ambitious Mechanical Project Managers looking to step into a Contracts Manager position.
- A strong mechanical engineering background with proven project delivery experience.
- Experience delivering M&E or mechanical projects valued at £2m+.
- Previous experience within Defence, Education, Healthcare or similar commercial sectors.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong programme management, procurement and coordination experience.
- Good understanding of JCT and Design & Build contracts.
- Strong IT skills and a proactive, forward-thinking approach.
- SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS cards in date.
- The ability to lead teams and drive projects through to successful completion.
