A global multidisciplinary consultancy is expanding its Mechanical Building Services team across Exeter and Plymouth due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured UK and international projects. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team delivering mechanical engineering solutions across defence, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial and secure environments. This is a design-focused position supporting full lifecycle delivery from concept design through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support mechanical building services design across RIBA Stages 0-7
- Assist in the design of HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation and associated plant
- Undertake engineering calculations including heat loss/gain, pipe sizing and airflow calculations
- Produce drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
- Work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Support coordination with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines
- Attend design meetings and assist in technical problem solving
- Support sustainable and low-carbon design strategies
- Assist with site inspections and construction phase support
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- 2-3 years' experience in building services design (consultancy preferred)
- Understanding of HVAC systems and UK construction standards
- Revit / BIM experience advantageous
- Strong communication and willingness to develop
- Security Clearance eligibility beneficial due to defence workload
