About the Opportunity
We are recruiting a dynamic and intellectually curious Electrical Engineer to join a nationally recognised building services consultancy with a strong focus on sustainable design and technical excellence. You will work across a diverse range of built environment projects including healthcare, education, commercial and residential sectors, supporting design teams from concept through to delivery.
The role can be tailored to suit candidates from mid-level engineer through to principal or associate level with expanded responsibilities including technical leadership, client engagement and team mentoring.
What You Will Do
- Lead and contribute to electrical building services design on multi-discipline projects from feasibility and concept design to detailed design, construction support and commissioning
- Prepare and develop compliant solutions for HV and LV distribution, power, lighting including emergency lighting, earthing and bonding, containment, small power, ICT infrastructure, fire alarm, security and access control systems
- Apply sustainable design principles, energy-efficient design strategies and deliver best-value engineering outcomes in line with current standards
- Coordinate electrical design with other engineering disciplines, architects and lead consultants to ensure integrated design delivery
- Attend design team meetings, client workshops and site visits managing aspects of communication and technical representation
- Utilise relevant tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit and analysis packages to produce high-quality deliverables
- For senior candidates provide technical leadership, oversee work of junior engineers, contribute to business development and support quality assurance processes
About You
Core Requirements for all levels
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Proven technical experience in electrical building services design across a variety of project types
- Strong understanding of UK regulations, standards and design guidance including BS/EN standards and CIBSE guidance
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in design software with AutoCAD essential and Revit advantageous
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage workload effectively
Senior or Principal Level
- Chartered or working towards chartership such as IET or CIBSE/IET
- Track record of technical leadership and project delivery on complex schemes
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Client relationship skills and proven ability supporting proposal work and winning commissions
