This field‑based position blends technical surveying knowledge, client engagement and on‑site project support. You’ll work across the region, with weekly time in the Exeter office and the autonomy to manage your own diary.

The Role

As Technical Support Manager, you’ll be the trusted technical link between clients, contractors and internal teams. Your work will span a wide range of construction and refurbishment programmes, including:

  • Providing technical guidance throughout building projects
  • Visiting sites to monitor progress, quality and compliance
  • Validating technical and pricing compliance against framework requirements
  • Supporting clients with specifications, procurement routes and project delivery
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and appointed companies
  • Feeding regional insight into the development of future frameworks
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting national best practice
About You

This role is ideal for someone with a Surveying or Construction Project Management background who enjoys variety, autonomy and client interaction. You’ll bring:

  • Experience managing construction or building projects from feasibility to completion
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods and project management
  • Confidence working face‑to‑face with clients and contractors
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills
  • Experience writing specifications and pricing schedules (advantageous)
  • A degree or equivalent experience in Building Surveying or a related discipline
