A leading global infrastructure consulting firm is expanding its Building Services Electrical Engineering teams across Exeter and Plymouth, supporting a growing portfolio of complex UK and international projects. The role sits within a multidisciplinary environment, delivering work across defence, transport, healthcare, education, commercial and public sector estates. A significant proportion of current workload includes secure and defence-related infrastructure. This is a design-focused role supporting full project lifecycle delivery from early concept through to detailed design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electrical building services design across RIBA Stages 0-7
- Assist in the design of LV distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, fire detection, small power and associated services
- Undertake engineering calculations including load assessments, cable sizing and lighting design
- Produce technical drawings, schematics, specifications and design reports using Revit and AutoCAD
- Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary design teams
- Support coordination with architects, structural engineers and other MEP disciplines
- Attend design meetings and assist with technical queries during project delivery
- Support site inspections and respond to technical queries during construction
- Assist in the development of BIM and digital design workflows
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in building services design (consultancy preferred)
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and BS standards
- Experience with Revit / AutoCAD advantageous
- Strong communication and willingness to develop technically
- Security Clearance eligibility advantageous due to defence-related projects
