About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Area Housing Manager to deliver high-quality, customer-focused tenancy and neighbourhood management services across approximately 5,500 homes within the social housing sector. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Housing Officers across the Plymouth area, ensuring effective tenancy management, strong performance and positive outcomes for customers and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of Housing Officers
- Deliver effective tenancy and neighbourhood management services
- Manage complex tenancy issues including ASB, safeguarding, hoarding, domestic abuse and tenancy fraud
- Ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies and risk management requirements
- Handle customer complaints and drive service improvements
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, local authorities and partner agencies
- Use data and customer insight to improve service delivery
- Maintain oversight of fire and property safety actions across schemes
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders including local authorities and elected members
About You
- Proven experience managing teams within social housing or a related sector
- Strong knowledge of tenancy and housing management
- Experience delivering performance improvements and managing change
- Confident using data, reports and KPIs
- Good understanding of housing legislation and best practice
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Basic DBS check required
