Senior Planner, Exeter, £40k - £50k DOE
This could also be based in the Cornwall offices.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior / Associate Planner to join a well‑established independent planning consultancy based in their Exeter or Cornwall offices.
Working as part of an experienced and collaborative team, you'll take the lead on a varied portfolio of planning projects across the residential, commercial, leisure, renewable energy and heritage sectors. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious MRTPI Planner looking to step into a senior role where they can take ownership of projects, build long‑term client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse range of planning projects from inception through to determination
- Prepare planning appraisals, planning applications and appeals
- Provide commercially focused planning advice to a wide variety of clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Attend client meetings, Planning Committees and public consultations where required
- Contribute towards business development and generating new opportunities
- Mentor junior members of the team where appropriate
Requirements
- MRTPI qualified
- Strong planning experience gained within either consultancy or Local Authority
- Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system
- Experience preparing planning applications and appeals
- Commercial awareness and strong communication skills
- Ability to manage your own workload and client relationships
- Full UK Driving Licence
