An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior / Associate Planner to join a well-established independent planning consultancy based in their Exeter or Cornwall offices. Working as part of an experienced and collaborative team, you will take the lead on a varied portfolio of planning projects across the residential, commercial, leisure, renewable energy and heritage sectors. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious MRTPI Planner looking to step into a senior role where they can take ownership of projects, build long-term client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse range of planning projects from inception through to determination
  • Prepare planning appraisals, planning applications and appeals
  • Provide commercially focused planning advice to a wide variety of clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Attend client meetings, Planning Committees and public consultations where required
  • Contribute towards business development and generating new opportunities
  • Mentor junior members of the team where appropriate

Requirements

  • MRTPI qualified
  • Strong planning experience gained within either consultancy or Local Authority
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Experience preparing planning applications and appeals
  • Commercial awareness and strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and client relationships
  • Full UK Driving Licence
