SALARY: £14.96/Hr

DURATION: 4 months

The Employer: We are recruiting a person for the role of Support Worker within a housing environment. The Client is a large employer, based in the South West providing jobs for around 1800 people delivering services across a variety of fields, always looking to add to their ever-developing pool of talent. They provide housing options for every level of requirements, from homelessness and helping people back onto their feet, through to people looking to buy a home for their retirement. Covering all areas of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, this employer offers stability and progression opportunities.

The Role: Working as part of a small support team to provide responsive services to people, usually around 24 years old and above, who have/are experiencing substance & alcohol misuse and mental ill-health. Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with other agencies regarding specific needs including Benefits, Mental Health, Substance Misuse
  • Building open and trusting relationships while assisting clients in exploring options around education, training, and employment
  • Writing, reviewing and updating support plans and risk assessments, using a motivated and positive approach
  • Providing high-quality support to clients, helping maintain their homes and tenancies

The Candidate: Experience in supporting people with various needs and backgrounds. Key attributes include:

  • Ability to apply common sense to situations, whilst being accountable for decisions made and reasons behind them
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships within internal and external partnerships, and with multiple clients and colleagues
  • Maintaining records and putting action plans in place
  • Experience of risk assessing and risk management
  • Ideally holds a NVQ LVL 3 in relevant field
  • Being resilient and adaptable
  • Having an open, friendly personality and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations

SUMMARY: This is an exciting role with opportunities to make a real difference to people’s lives. Working a 22.2 hour week, including evenings and weekends. A DBS is required for this role at Enhanced level.
