An established Mechanical and Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Services Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team based in Cirencester. The role would suit a commercially aware estimator with strong technical knowledge of building services and experience delivering estimates across a range of commercial projects. You will work closely with senior management and contribute to the successful delivery of competitive and well-considered tenders.
Reporting directly to the Construction Director, key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing tender documentation including specifications and employer’s requirements
- Preparing accurate and timely cost estimates covering labour, materials and subcontract packages
- Producing tenders for internal adjudication
- Assessing and vetting supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value is achieved
- Attending and leading tender adjudication meetings, presenting programme, pricing strategy and commercial risk
- Monitoring and reviewing project costs against tender allowances
- Maintaining and updating in-house costing and estimating software
- Liaising with main contractors, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal design and delivery teams

- Proactive approach, with the ability to advise on alternative systems and cost-saving solutions

Experience and qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar estimating role within an M&E contractor or main contractor environment
- Strong understanding of building services pricing, design and delivery
- Ability to prepare estimates from drawings and specifications as a minimum
- Experience within commercial, office or warehousing projects would be advantageous
- Confident in estimating costs and programmes to meet tender deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent numerical, analytical and written skills
- General understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and sustainability principles
