About the Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality building structure projects for a wide range of clients. This consultancy consistently "punches above its weight," securing complex and prestigious schemes across both public and private sectors. Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertaking detailed design and structural analysis across a variety of building types within the property sector.
  • Leading projects and overseeing the work of a dedicated design team.
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Regular communication with architects, contractors, and wider project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Liaising directly with clients and responding swiftly to technical queries.
  • Attending site visits and meetings, contributing to technical reports and design reviews.
  • Taking on increasing responsibility as you move toward higher-level management roles within the business.

Key Projects You'll Be Involved In

The Cardiff office is currently engaged in a wide range of exciting and challenging developments, including:

  • RC-framed multi-storey buildings up to 35 floors (hotels, residential, student accommodation)
  • National out-of-town retail developments across the UK
  • Custodial facilities and secure government-led projects
  • Commercial and mixed-use developments
  • Major hospital builds and extension programmes.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or actively working toward it.
  • Proven experience in building structures within a consultancy environment.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Tekla, Autodesk, and other analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of the design and construction process from concept stage through to site delivery.
