Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Devon RGB Recruitment is excited to announce a new opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor on a permanent basis. Based in the heart of Devon, this team are wishing for a proactive and detailed Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join them and play a key role in supporting the commercial functions of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain valuable experience and grow their career in the construction industry within a well established team and company! Responsibilities: Assist the commercial team in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project costs Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to ensure financial control and accuracy Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers Assist in the valuation of works and certification of payments to subcontractors in accordance with contractual agreements and project milestones Participate in site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or variations Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence and financial reports Requirements: Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or construction related Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and cost analysis Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quantity surveying software and tools A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced construction environment Relevant driving licence If you would like to discuss, please do call RGB Recruitment Exeter and ask for Nicky Harris
