I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure project in the Bridgwater area. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior commercial role within a long‑term, high‑value programme that offers stability, progression and real impact.
The Role
- As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial lead responsibility for a significant package of works.
- Your duties will include:
- Full commercial management from procurement through to final accounts
- Cost forecasting, reporting and budget management
- Managing subcontractor packages, valuations and payments
- Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks
- Working closely with operational and project teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
What You’ll Need
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS on civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or large construction projects
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding (NEC experience advantageous)
- Ability to manage multiple packages and deadlines confidently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Chartered or working toward chartership (RICS / ICES / CIOB) desirable
