A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team in Devon, delivering a range of complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the South West, working on technically challenging schemes within marine, coastal defence, harbour, waterfront and heavy civil engineering environments.

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, profitable and successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion, leading site teams, managing subcontractors and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of marine and civil engineering projects from inception through to completion.
  • Manage project programmes, resources and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Manage NEC contracts, compensation events and commercial reporting alongside the commercial team.
  • Drive programme performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Produce and review RAMS, construction methodologies and project documentation.
  • Attend client and progress meetings and provide regular project updates.
Requirements
  • Proven experience operating as a Project Manager within marine, coastal or heavy civil engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of marine construction methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects involving harbours, jetties, quay walls, coastal defence, dredging, marine structures or waterfront infrastructure.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
