An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary building services consultancy in Bristol. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and innovative team, delivering projects from concept strategy through to post-completion evaluation across a range of sectors.
This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer capable of leading design delivery, managing client relationships, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
- Represent the consultancy and its core ethos of technical excellence and project delivery with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity.
- Plan, manage, undertake, and deliver high-quality detailed building services engineering design, including:
- Engineering calculations and analysis
- Revit models and technical specifications
- Deliver projects from concept design through to completion and post-occupancy evaluation.
- Attend and represent the business at meetings with clients, contractors, architects, and wider professional teams.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, developing a reputation as a trusted technical advisor.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and less experienced team members to encourage professional development and progression.
- Contribute to project reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comply with company quality assurance procedures and standards.
- Support wider company and project-related activities as required.
Experience in the design and delivery of Mechanical Building Services engineering systems. Ability to demonstrate and clearly articulate the rationale behind engineering design proposals. Strong knowledge and application of low-carbon and sustainable building design principles. Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership with a recognised engineering institution. Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines. Experience developing and managing project delivery programmes. Commitment to continuous professional development and adoption of new ways of working. Fluent written and spoken English.
Experience delivering projects across sectors such as Commercial Project management and commercial awareness. Established professional network within the industry.
