An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy based in Bristol. This is an ideal role for a graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop within a collaborative environment, working on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
The business specialises in delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, and sustainability design solutions, with a strong focus on innovation, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design. You’ll gain exposure to projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, supporting designs from concept through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical building services systems (power, lighting, small power, containment)
- Support senior engineers with project delivery across all RIBA stages
- Produce calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
- Contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions (including low-carbon technologies)
- Attend site visits, surveys, and client meetings
- Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects, and wider design teams
- Assist with reports including feasibility studies, condition surveys, and performance assessments
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar
- Basic understanding of electrical design within the built environment
- Familiarity with UK regulations and standards (e.g. BS7671, Part L)
- Some experience with design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech - beneficial but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- A proactive and collaborative mindset
