A leading Ductwork & Ventilation Contractor based in North London is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The company specialises in commercial and industrial projects including commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, shopping centres, train stations, MOD projects, and more. Project values typically sit around £600k, with schemes up to £1.5m.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Estimator with a strong ductwork or ventilation background to take ownership of the estimating function within the business.
The Role
This is a key position within the company, working as the sole Estimator from their North London office. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems across a range of commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing architectural, mechanical, and HVAC drawings and specifications
- Carrying out detailed ductwork and ventilation quantity take-offs
- Preparing accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, plant, and subcontract works
- Pricing sheet metal ductwork, fittings, dampers, insulation, air devices, and associated accessories
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Producing bid summaries, scope documents, and value engineering options
- Identifying risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities
- Maintaining estimating databases and historical cost records
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to finalise submissions
- Supporting the handover process to the delivery team upon project award
Salary & Package
£65,000 – £70,000 (depending on experience)
