Refrigeration & Air Conditioning PPM Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £38,000 per annum

My client is a long-established and successful contractor in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. They are seeking a proactive, reliable Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a major site in Cambridge. This role is ideal for an engineer who is confident with planned preventative maintenance and routine service work, with occasional support on reactive breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF units, water chillers and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults, repair equipment where possible, or recommend appropriate remedial action.
- Complete all required paperwork and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work independently or as part of a small onsite team.
- Participate in the emergency call-out rota (one allocated day per week under the site rota system).
Qualifications
Essential:
- City & Guilds 2079 (F-Gas)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- 18th Edition Electrical
- IPAF
- PASMA
Experience & Skills
- Good experience working on a broad range of air-conditioning systems (split, multi-split, VRV/VRF).
- Experience with refrigeration systems, including water chillers.
- Strong fault-finding ability and good general electrical knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills—both customer-facing and written.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
