I’m currently working with a well-established and highly regarded civil and structural engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior/Principal Structural Technician into their growing London team. The Role
As a Senior/Principal Structural Technician, you will take a lead role in the production and delivery of structural engineering drawings and BIM models across all project stages.
- Leading the production of 2D & 3D structural drawings from concept through to construction
- Managing and maintaining BIM/Revit standards across projects
- Reviewing and coordinating technical drawings and models across disciplines
- Overseeing multiple BIM projects and supervising model production
- Supporting engineers with design development and technical detailing
- Mentoring and developing junior technicians
- Liaising with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement of digital processes and innovation
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural engineering or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM processes
- Experience working on complex, multi-phase developments
- A detailed understanding of BIM standards (including BIM Level 2)
- Experience producing and reviewing detailed structural models and drawings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across disciplines
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
- Professional membership (e.g. EngTech, IEng, IStructE) and familiarity with ISO standards would be advantageous.
