A well-established global engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to join its London team. The role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex and high-profile projects, supporting clients across commercial, residential, healthcare, infrastructure and mixed-use developments. This position suits a technically strong fire engineer who is confident working independently while contributing to multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities
- Produce detailed fire strategy reports and supporting calculations for a range of building types
- Lead fire engineering design activities across multiple projects, working with minimal supervision
- Undertake design reviews against relevant fire safety requirements, codes and standards
- Support or contribute to CFD and evacuation modelling for complex building geometries
- Provide fire engineering input throughout project delivery, from concept through to construction
- Liaise closely with clients, architects, contractors, approval authorities and internal project teams
- Attend site and design meetings, reporting on progress, risks and technical issues
- Support project planning, fee forecasting and workload management in collaboration with senior management
- Assist with mentoring and development of junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
- Support work winning activities and contribute positively to the growth of the fire engineering team
Requirements
- Masters degree in engineering or a relevant science-based discipline
- Chartered Engineer status achieved or actively working towards professional registration
- Proven experience working within a fire engineering consultancy environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety regulations, engineering codes and standards
- Experience producing fire strategies and technical fire engineering documentation
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work to agreed deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Confident working independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Experience with Revit or 3D modelling software would be advantageous
- Strong presentation skills and a client focused approach
