A well-established structural and civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join its London office. The business has built an excellent reputation delivering high-quality engineering solutions across residential, commercial, education, heritage and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East. Working closely with leading architects, developers and project teams, they are involved in a wide range of architecturally-led and technically challenging projects from concept through to construction. Due to a growing workload, they are looking to strengthen the civil engineering team with a technically strong engineer who enjoys project delivery and design work. This is not a management role and there is no expectation to build or lead a team. Instead, the focus is on delivering high-quality highways, drainage and infrastructure designs across a diverse project portfolio.

The Role

  • Deliver highways, drainage and development infrastructure designs across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes
  • Prepare drainage strategies, flood risk inputs and infrastructure layouts for planning and detailed design stages
  • Produce and review Civil 3D and infrastructure design packages
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, planning consultants and external stakeholders
  • Liaise with local authorities and statutory bodies regarding technical approvals
  • Support projects from feasibility through planning and construction stages
  • Contribute technical expertise across multiple live projects

Requirements

  • 5–10 years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment
  • Strong background in development infrastructure, highways and drainage design
  • Experience delivering residential and commercial development projects
  • Proficient in Civil 3D and drainage design software
  • Good understanding of planning, technical approvals and infrastructure delivery
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
