My client is a privately owned Mechanical Contractor based in Surrey who has been operating for 26 years.

As a business, they employ about 35 staff and specialize in Fast Track Commercial Office Fit-Out projects in London, with project values ranging from £500k to £11.5Mil.

They are now seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join their team.

JOB SUMMARY – Mechanical Site Supervisor

Monday – Friday – 08:00 – 17:00

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our team.

Currently, there are 5 Project Managers and 10 Site Supervisors, supervising teams of up to 20.

You will be site-based in London (with sites across Central) focusing on installation and commercial fit-outs for AC, ventilation, and associated mechanical plant.

Project values range between £500k – £11.5mil, generally falling between £2mil – £5mil.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems.
  2. Ensure that all mechanical installations comply with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  3. Coordinate daily activities and work schedules for mechanical teams.
  4. Ensure all mechanical work is completed on time and within the project budget.
  5. Oversee the allocation of resources, tools, and materials needed for mechanical tasks.
  6. Perform inspections of mechanical work to ensure quality standards and compliance with safety regulations.
  7. Ensure that work is performed to the highest quality, meeting industry standards and client expectations.
  8. Enforce site safety regulations and protocols.
  9. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
  10. Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
  11. Supervise mechanical tradespeople, including plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters.
  12. Provide guidance and technical support to workers on-site.
  13. Offer training on best practices and safety standards.
  14. Act as the point of contact between the mechanical team and other departments, such as electrical, civil, and project management teams.
  15. Address any issues that arise during the construction or installation process, particularly mechanical failures or design discrepancies.
  16. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including inspections, maintenance reports, and safety logs.
  17. Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of mechanical work.
  18. Ensure all mechanical installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (local, national, and international).
  19. Assist in estimating project costs and the resources needed for mechanical works.
  20. Monitor expenditures related to mechanical systems and ensure projects stay within budget.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. CSCS Gold Card
  2. NVQ or C&G in Mechanical or HVAC
  3. SSSTS

SALARY & PACKAGE

£55,000
Travel expenses to site covered
Overtime Available
20 Days Holiday & 8 Bank Holidays (increases to 25 Days after 2 years of service)
