THE COMPANY
My client is a highly respected M&E Design & Build Company based in Dartford, operating for over 40 years and employing around 40 staff directly.
They provide Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance services to clients such as Police Stations, Courts, Office Fit Outs, Factories and more. Due to growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join the team.
THE POSITION – MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR
Monday Friday, 8am-5pm. Office based in Kent, working alongside 2 other Mechanical Estimators & 2 Electrical Estimators.
Projects vary from £10,000 to £5,000,000. Commercial Projects include Police Stations, Courts, Office Fit Outs, Factories and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tender document review and analysis including raising of RFIs with the client
- Supply chain correspondence and enquiries
- Take‑off as required conforming to standard estimating conventions
- Vetting incoming tenders/offers from our supply chain and ensuring that the most viable offer is included within our submission
- Preparing tenders for internal adjudications
- Attendance of tender adjudication meetings to present costing approach, project duration and risks to the business
- Timely submission of tenders
- Attendance in handover of projects to the operations team
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferably qualified by apprenticeship or to C & G/ONC level
- Proven experience in a similar position with an M&E contractor or in the M&E division of a main contractor
- Proven ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately in order to meet deadlines
SALARY & PACKAGE
- £30,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
