A global multidisciplinary consultancy is expanding its Mechanical Building Services team across Exeter and Plymouth due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured UK and international projects. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team delivering mechanical engineering solutions across defence, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial and secure environments. This is a design-focused position supporting full lifecycle delivery from concept design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical building services design across RIBA Stages 0–7
  • Assist in the design of HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation and associated plant
  • Undertake engineering calculations including heat loss/gain, pipe sizing and airflow calculations
  • Produce drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Support coordination with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines
  • Attend design meetings and assist in technical problem solving
  • Support sustainable and low-carbon design strategies
  • Assist with site inspections and construction phase support

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • 2–3 years’ experience in building services engineering
