London or Guildford | Hybrid | 3 Days in Office
The Opportunity
A leading global multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Traffic Engineer to join its growing Place & Movement team in London or Guildford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Traffic, Highways or Transport Engineer with 3+ years' experience who wants to further develop their technical expertise while working on high-profile projects across London, the South East and beyond.
You'll work alongside transport planners, civil engineers, urban designers and other multidisciplinary specialists , contributing to projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing transport and highway engineering designs from concept through to detailed design
- Producing technical drawings, reports and supporting documentation
- Undertaking traffic, transport and infrastructure assessments
- Developing highway, traffic and urban realm solutions
- Coordinating designs with structures, lighting, landscape, utilities and other disciplines
- Supporting site inspections, surveys and construction monitoring
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, programme and budget
- Supporting proposals and business development activities
- Taking increasing technical ownership as your experience develops
About You
We're looking for a proactive engineer with a genuine interest in traffic, highways and the way people move through urban environments .
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years' experience in traffic, highways, transport or civil engineering
- A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of highway and traffic engineering principles
- Experience delivering designs in accordance with UK standards
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of highway construction methods, materials and specifications
- Strong report writing and technical communication skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative approach and confidence dealing with stakeholders
Experience with Civil 3D or OpenRoads , TfL standards, Bills of Quantities, site supervision or construction monitoring would be advantageous.
