About the Role

They are seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join their in-house drawing office. You will be responsible for producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models to support the delivery of structural steel and temporary works projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce 3D models using Tekla
  • Generate GA, fabrication, and erection drawings
  • Prepare material lists, NC files, and schedules
  • Interpret engineering and architectural drawings
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams
  • Ensure compliance with BS/EN standards and client specifications
  • Manage revisions and maintain document control
  • Provide technical support to workshop and site teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Steel Detailer
  • Strong knowledge of structural steelwork and fabrication
  • Proficiency in Tekla (other detailing software considered)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of connections, detailing, and erection principles
  • Familiarity with UK standards
  • Temporary works experience (e.g. propping, walers)
  • AutoCAD or similar software knowledge
  • HNC/HND in Structural/Mechanical Engineering
