We're currently recruiting for an Electrical Bias Shift Engineer to join a professional landlord-side engineering team across a prestigious commercial building in Canary Wharf.
The Role
You'll be part of a dedicated on-site engineering team responsible for maintaining landlord systems within a large commercial building. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on, traditional engineering environment, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fault finding rather than working on brand-new, warranty-covered equipment.
Key Details
- Large commercial property environment (landlord side)
- Team of 8 engineers, split into 2 teams of 4
- Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off (7am-7pm)
- Always working in pairs for safety and efficiency
- Additional mobile team supporting tenant-related issues
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as tasked by building coordinator.
- Fault finding and remedial works across electrical and mechanical plant.
- Ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Respond to reactive maintenance tasks.
- Work collaboratively within a structured engineering team.
Requirements
- Electrically qualified – NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge.
- Experience within commercial building maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding ability and practical mindset.
- Reliable, team-focused, and proactive.

- Salary: £49,026 with 3% shift allowance.
