The Role You’ll be responsible for delivering civil engineering designs across a range of development-led projects, with drainage forming the main focus of the position.Your responsibilities will include:Leading the delivery of drainage design projects from concept through to detailed designPreparing drainage strategies for residential, commercial and mixed-use developmentsDesigning surface water and foul drainage systemsDesigning and incorporating SuDS, attenuation and storage solutionsProducing drainage calculations and hydraulic modellingDeveloping highways and infrastructure designs alongside drainagePreparing technical drawings and specificationsLiaising with clients, developers, local authorities and other stakeholdersSupporting planning and technical approval processesReviewing designs and providing technical guidance to junior engineersManaging your own projects, workload and deadlinesWorking collaboratively with the wider transport and infrastructure teamAbout You We’re looking for a Civil Engineer with solid consultancy experience and a strong technical understanding of drainage design.You’ll ideally have:A degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineSeveral years’ experience working within civil engineering consultancyStrong experience in drainage design, particularly for development projectsGood understanding of SuDS, attenuation and drainage strategiesExperience with relevant drainage design/modelling softwareWorking knowledge of highways design and infrastructureStrong understanding of UK drainage and highway standardsExcellent communication and technical skillsThe ability to manage projects and work independentlyExperience working towards or holding ICE/CIHT/CEng accreditation would be advantageous.
