My client are a leading Ductwork & Ventilation Contractor who are based in North London. They specialise in Commercial & Industrial Projects which include Commercial Offices, Manufacturing, Shopping Centres, Train Stations, MOD and more. Projects up to a value of £1.5mil, but generally fall around £600k. Due to growth, they are seeking a Project Manager who has come from a Ductwork or Ventilation background to join the team.
THE ROLE
Hours: Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm
You will be working in a team of 6 Project Managers in the business, based out of their North London Office and being on site. You will be managing multiple projects at any one time, values ranging up to £1.5mil, but will generally fall around £500k - £600k.
Job Summary
The Project Manager – Ductwork / Ventilation is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering ductwork and ventilation projects from contract award through final handover. This role oversees cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontractors, and site coordination, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ductwork and ventilation projects from preconstruction to completion
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, and internal teams
- Chair and attend progress, coordination, and site meetings
- Ensure timely approvals of shop drawings, samples, and technical submittals
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Monitor costs, variations, and project profitability
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, change orders, and claims
- Approve supplier and subcontractor payments in line with progress
- Work closely with estimators during project handover and variations
- Develop and maintain project programmes and short-term lookahead schedules
- Procure materials, ductwork fabrication, and specialist services
- Coordinate factory production, deliveries, and site installation sequencing
- Ensure materials meet project specifications and quality requirements
- Oversee site installation activities and productivity
- Coordinate ductwork installation with other trades (mechanical, electrical, structural)
- Ensure compliance with SMACNA standards, drawings, and approved details
- Manage snagging, testing, commissioning, and final handover documentation
- Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Implement company safety procedures and risk assessments
- Conduct site inspections and quality audits
