Are you an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer looking for more than just another design role? This is an opportunity to join a growing, design-led building services consultancy that combines technical engineering excellence with real-world delivery expertise. Established by highly respected Chartered Engineers with backgrounds spanning consultancy, client-side organisations, major occupiers and construction, the business has built a reputation for providing commercially focused engineering advice alongside exceptional technical design.
Unlike many consultancies, the leadership team bring experience from across the entire property lifecycle, giving engineers exposure not only to design, but also project delivery, technical advisory, asset performance, occupier requirements and commercial strategy. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to play a key role in leading projects, developing client relationships and helping shape the future direction of the company.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who enjoys taking ownership and wants exposure to every stage of project delivery. You will work directly alongside senior leadership on a diverse range of projects across:
- Commercial offices
- Healthcare facilities
- Higher education
- Student accommodation
- Residential developments
- Mixed-use schemes
- Specialist technical environments
Projects range from new-build developments and major refurbishments through to technical due diligence, design management, occupier fit-outs, asset optimisation and decarbonisation programmes. The consultancy's project portfolio includes work for major property owners, international brands, institutional investors and innovative occupiers, providing exposure to projects that would typically be associated with much larger organisations.
Why This Role Stands Out
Many larger consultancies offer strong technical exposure but can often limit engineers to a specific discipline, team or project stage. Here, engineers are encouraged to become involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, including:
- Concept and detailed design
- Client engagement and stakeholder management
- Technical workshops
- Site inspections and surveys
- Design management
- Construction support
- Commercial discussions
- Technical reporting
- Project delivery strategy
With a lean team structure and direct access to decision-makers, you will have genuine influence over projects and gain responsibility much earlier than would typically be available in a larger practice.
As a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer, you will act as a lead engineer on a variety of projects whilst supporting the development of junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion.
- Produce and review technical designs, reports, specifications and contract documentation.
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact for clients and design teams.
- Coordinate with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural disciplines.
- Undertake design calculations, technical assessments and engineering studies.
- Support project planning, resource management and commercial control.
- Monitor programme, scope and budget requirements throughout project delivery.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, technical workshops and design reviews.
- Contribute to business development activities and long-term client relationships.
