About Us: We are a leading commercial heating company delivering high-quality mechanical services to commercial and industrial clients across London and the Home Counties. Our expertise spans plant room installations, heating and hot water systems, and complete mechanical refurbishments. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a skilled Commercial Pipefitter to join our professional and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install commercial pipework systems including heating, chilled water, domestic hot/cold water, and gas.
- Carry out installation of plant and equipment such as boilers, pumps, water heaters, unvented cylinders, pressurisation units, chillers, AHUs, dosing pots, and associated equipment.
- Fabricate and install pipework using various materials (carbon steel, copper, stainless steel, plastic) and techniques (press-fit, threaded, welded, etc.).
- Plan and route pipework on-site in line with drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to deliver installations on time and to specification.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company RAMS, and any site-specific protocols.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship with attention to alignment, support systems, and neatness.
- Keep accurate daily work records and report any site variations or issues that may impact progress to supervisors or the office team.
- Take part in the company’s call-out rota (additional remuneration and support provided).
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in commercial/industrial pipefitting and mechanical installation of plant rooms.
- Strong knowledge of commercial heating and water systems.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and plan installation routes accordingly.
- Experience working to deadlines and collaborating with site teams and external contractors.
- Full UK Driving Licence (clean or with minimal points).
- Capable of working independently and managing responsibilities on-site.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-conscious approach.
