An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team in Ivybridge. The successful Electrical Engineer will be responsible for undertaking and managing electrical design projects of varying sizes, with a particular focus on industrial and logistics developments. The role offers a combination of hands-on technical design, project responsibility, client interaction and coordination with wider professional teams.
You will work across projects from initial design through to completion, with responsibility for producing high-quality electrical engineering solutions and ensuring designs meet relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and undertake the full electrical design of projects of varying sizes, primarily within the industrial and logistics sector.
- Complete electrical building services design through to high-voltage systems where required.
- Take responsibility for the delivery of medium to large-scale projects.
- Develop electrical engineering solutions across relevant RIBA stages.
- Act as a client-facing engineer, providing technical advice and supporting project development.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and wider professional teams.
- Lead the coordination of electrical and wider engineering services.
- Develop and specify controls, instrumentation and operating systems associated with building engineering services.
- Undertake surveys and testing of existing electrical installations.
- Prepare dilapidation reports relating to existing electrical installations.
- Produce and review engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, UK Regulations and industry guidance.
- Provide technical and quality-control input across projects.
