An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of rail, infrastructure, industrial, and energy‑related projects, delivering both temporary and permanent works design solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in the delivery of technically challenging projects, supporting design development from concept through to construction while mentoring junior engineers and liaising directly with clients and stakeholders. You will be joining a collaborative engineering environment where technical excellence, practical problem‑solving, and professional development are highly valued.
Responsibilities:- Delivering structural engineering design for temporary and permanent works projects
- Carrying out structural analysis and complex calculations for steel and concrete structures
- Designing foundations, retaining walls, support frames, platforms, pipe racks, and associated infrastructure
- Producing structural calculations, technical reports, and engineering documentation
- Developing analytical models using industry‑standard structural software
- Reviewing drawings, contractor proposals, and specialist supplier information
- Coordinating with architects, contractors, geotechnical engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Undertaking site inspections, surveys, and attending client and design meetings
- Supporting project delivery, programme management, and technical compliance
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical development within the team
- Ensuring designs are delivered in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and project requirements
