An established and highly respected civil and structural engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate Civil Engineer to join its Nottingham office. This is a key leadership appointment within a growing team, offering the opportunity to lead project delivery, develop client relationships, mentor engineers and technicians, and play an active role in the future growth of the business.

The practice has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a broad range of sectors and enjoys a healthy pipeline of repeat business from long-standing clients. Projects include:

Working closely with developers, architects, contractors and private clients, the business delivers projects from initial feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction.

As a Principal or Associate Civil Engineer, you will take a leading role in managing technical delivery while helping develop both the team and client base. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of infrastructure and drainage design projects
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
  • Overseeing project budgets, programmes and resources
  • Reviewing and approving technical reports, calculations and drawings
  • Mentoring and developing engineers and technicians
  • Supporting business development activities and fee proposals
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of the civil engineering team

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant experience delivering development infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in highways and drainage design
  • Experience with Section 38, Section 278 and Section 104 agreements
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and drainage design software
  • Strong project management and client-facing skills
  • Chartered Engineer status (MICE or equivalent) preferred
  • Previous experience leading teams and managing project delivery
