I am currently helping a well-established fire engineering consultancy, who are seeking a talented and motivated Fire Engineer to join their rapidly growing team. The business has expanded from 30 to over 100 people in just three years and continues to build a strong reputation in the sector. With several satellite offices throughout the UK, the majority of the team work remotely, supported by a collaborative culture and robust operations and finance functions.
As a Fire Engineer, you will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, from high-rise residential and schools to offices, high-security contracts, and external wall work. You’ll have the chance to contribute to industry-leading fire safety solutions, supported by colleagues with expertise spanning design, testing, sprinkler systems, and expert witness services.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality fire engineering designs and reports across a variety of sectors
Undertake external wall assessments and contribute to assurance projects
Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulators to achieve safe, compliant outcomes
Support project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
Contribute to a positive, team-based working culture focused on shared monthly targets rather than rigid timesheets
Requirements
AIFireE (preferred for seniors)
IFSM membership (beneficial)
BEng in Fire Engineering (preferred) or relevant master’s conversion
Experience: Around 5 years’ industry experience, ideally including external wall projects
Strong technical knowledge and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
