We are currently recruiting for an experienced Duel Fuel Engineer to join a well-established contractor delivering heating services within the social housing sector. This role is based in Peterborough, covering a 30-mile radius, working on a long-term Housing contract. Engineers will remain within their designated patch and will not be required to travel further afield due to on-call responsibilities.
Overview of the Role
The Dual Fuel Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing domestic gas and oil heating systems within occupied residential properties. The successful candidate will be confident working across both fuel types and delivering high standards of safety, compliance and customer service. Participation in an out-of-hours rota is required (rota structure to be confirmed at interview stage).
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintenance and breakdown of domestic gas and oil heating systems
- Complete landlord gas safety checks where required
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Provide excellent customer service in occupied social housing properties
- Complete all required documentation electronically
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work
- Manage van stock in line with company procedures
- Participate in standby/call-out rota (details confirmed at interview)
Requirements
- Valid ACS Gas Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1)
- OFTEC Oil qualifications (OFT10-101, OFT10-105E, OFT10-600a)
- Proven experience in domestic service & breakdown
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Professional and customer-focused approach
Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm (1 hour lunch) Plus participation in call-out rota.
