Commercial Gas Improver – London & Home Counties £45/47k Location: London & Home Counties Job Type: Full-time Reports To: Service Manager Job Summary: Are you a domestic gas engineer seeking to be upskilled into the commercial gas with a excellent commercial heating company, who will pay for your commercial gas tickets? We are seeking a Commercial Gas improver Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair of commercial gas systems across a range of commercial properties and general plumbing works. We will also require the candidate to have HIU experience (service and repair skills), we are willing to consider engineers who have there commercial gas tickets already or engineers looking to upskill into commercial gas which we would fund and train you on. Key Responsibilities: Carry out installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of commercial gas heating systems, boilers, and associated equipment. Conduct gas safety inspections and issue relevant certification (e.g., CP16, CP17, CP42). Diagnose faults and identify parts required for repairs. Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations, building codes, and health & safety guidelines. Liaise with clients or site managers to provide updates on progress and any issues that arise. Maintain accurate records of work undertaken using job sheets, service reports, or digital platforms. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota – 1 in 4 Keep tools, equipment, and van in good working condition and maintain stock levels of parts and consumables. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Valid Gas Safe Registration or eligible to be registered. Full UK driving licence. Strong understanding of health & safety practices and legal compliance. HIU service & fault-finding experience Skills & Attributes: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Team-oriented with a flexible and positive attitude. Comfortable using digital systems for job management and reporting.
