An established transport and infrastructure consultancy are looking to strengthen their growing Infrastructure team with the appointment of a Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to support the delivery of a broad range of highways, drainage, and development infrastructure projects across London, Cambridge, and the wider South East.
The business operates across transport planning, infrastructure design, highways, drainage, flood risk, active travel, and development planning, working with both private sector developers and local authority clients on projects ranging from residential and mixed‑use developments through to wider public realm and infrastructure improvement schemes.
With a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and a strong pipeline of work across the South East, the company offers engineers the opportunity to gain broad technical exposure while working closely alongside experienced senior engineers and directors. Unlike larger corporates, the structure allows individuals to become involved across the full project lifecycle with genuine project ownership and client exposure from an early stage.
The role
You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle from feasibility and planning support through to detailed design and construction‑stage coordination, working on a varied portfolio of:
- Residential developments
- Mixed‑use schemes
- Public realm & active travel projects
- Highways & drainage infrastructure
- Development infrastructure packages
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Highways and drainage infrastructure design
- Preparation of S278, S38 & S104 design packages
- Drainage strategies and infrastructure coordination
- Technical reporting and design submissions
- Stakeholder and local authority coordination
- Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams
- Supporting projects from concept through delivery
Requirements
- 2-6 years' UK infrastructure/highways/drainage design experience
- Experience working on S278/S38/S104‑related schemes
- Strong understanding of highways and drainage design principles
- Ability to manage technical submissions and coordinate with stakeholders
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience using Site3D, InfoDrainage and/or Civil 3D advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
