Civil Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 – dependent on experience
A well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy in Maidstone is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing civils team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of infrastructure projects including residential, education, industrial, and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the civil engineering aspects of diverse infrastructure projects.
- Design highways, site levels, foul and surface water drainage systems, SuDS, and flood risk mitigation.
- Prepare detailed drainage and road construction designs.
- Model drainage networks using Causeway Flow (training can be provided if experienced in MicroDrainage).
- Prepare S38/S278 highway design packages.
- Undertake site visits, walkovers, and technical assessments.
- Liaise with local authorities, drainage boards, and utility providers.
- Interpret geotechnical reports for use in design.
- Use AutoCAD, PDS/Civil3D for infrastructure design.
- Complete Flood Risk Assessments and ensure CDM 2015 compliance.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 2–3+ years\’ experience in civil infrastructure design with a consultancy (UK experience preferred).
- Strong technical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD and either Causeway Flow, PDS, or Civil3D.
- Experience with S38, S278, and the technical approval process.
- Knowledge of UK design standards and industry best practices.
- Client-facing experience and the ability to manage project components independently.
