An established and growing Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to play a key role in the leadership and continued growth of its Leicester office. With a strong pipeline of development and infrastructure projects across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare and mixed-use sectors, this opportunity would suit an experienced Civil Engineer looking to take the next step into a senior leadership position with greater responsibility for project delivery, team management and client development.

The Role

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of infrastructure and drainage projects from inception through to completion.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Civil Engineers and Technicians.
  • Take responsibility for project profitability, programme management and technical quality.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Support business development activities, including networking, fee proposals and securing repeat work.
  • Provide technical leadership across drainage, highways and development infrastructure schemes.
  • Liaise with local authorities, statutory undertakers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Support the Directors in the strategic growth of the Civil Engineering team.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant UK consultancy experience within infrastructure and drainage design.
  • Strong technical knowledge covering highways, drainage and development infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing projects, clients and design teams.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Proficient with relevant design software including AutoCAD and drainage packages.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE or equivalent) preferred.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in helping grow a business unit.
