A well-established building services consultancy, based in South East London, is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their collaborative and close-knit team. The company delivers design and project management services across a range of projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use and healthcare schemes. This is an opportunity to work closely with the Electrical Director with lots of room for your own progression at an employee-centric business.
About the Role
You will work on a variety of projects from high-end residential refurbishments to large-scale commercial schemes, designing and delivering electrical systems. You will gain exposure to RIBA stages 1 to 7, collaborating with mechanical engineers, directors and clients. Senior engineers will also have the opportunity to lead projects and gain commercial and management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Intermediate Level
- Design electrical systems in line with client briefs, building regulations and British Standards
- Prepare drawings, schedules and specifications
- Undertake calculations for lighting (Dialux Evo), cable sizing (Amtech) and load schedules
- Work closely with mechanical colleagues to ensure coordinated designs
- Support and mentor junior engineers
- Attend client and project meetings
- Lead electrical design on multiple projects
- Provide strategic input into company development and client relationships
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
- Work closely with directors to gain commercial and project management experience

Ideal Candidate
- Ideally 3 years’ experience in building services electrical design, preferably in a consultancy environment
- Essential: proficiency in Amtech and Dialux Evo
- Desirable: experience with AutoCAD, Revit, IES VE and other design software
- Collaborative, adaptable and keen to progress professionally
- Passionate about sustainable and innovative engineering solutions
