Were expanding our team at our Bideford Branch and are looking for a dependable Yard Operative to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers
The Role
Join our team at Bideford as a Yard Operative, where you will play a vital role in maintaining our yard and supporting daily operations. As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for handling and organizing yard stocks, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, assisting customers with product inquiries, and ensuring the yard area is clean and safe. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Handle and maintain yard stocks efficiently
Load and unload customer, supplier, and company delivery vehicles
Assist customers by providing information on stock availability and product ranges.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area in compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the yard.
Support other departments as needed to contribute to overall company success.
Requirements
Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude towards tasks
Fork lift licence preferable
Driving Licence
Product knowledge
Sales experience
Good customer service
Unloading Supplier deliveries
Loading customer/company vehicles
The Hours
Week: 1 Monday to Friday, 08:00 -17:00
Week: 2 Monday to Friday, 08:00 -17:00 & Saturdays, 08:00-12:00
