Senior Financial Manager, EMEA (Financial Control)
The Senior Financial Manager, EMEA (Financial Control) reports to the Financial Controller, EMEA and plays a key role in understanding, documenting and monitoring risks, controls and processes to ensure well controlled financial reporting. The key area of focus would be within the Administration function.
What you will do
Own EMEA Administration SoX, End User Computing and Risk Reporting calendars, providing required reporting and documentation in a timely manner, and maintaining this in accordance with applicable standards and RGA guidelines.
Monitor the completion of regular control processes across EMEA Administration and follow up on any differences or improvement observations.
Streamline, standardise and improve control processes and related documentation across the region. This includes SoX, End User Computing and Risk reporting as well as any other control related processes.
Understand RGA group policies and their application for EMEA, ensuring regional alignment to global policies and frameworks for Internal Control, Risk and Internal Audit.
Support Internal Audit and External Audit with testing and manage queries relating to EMEA Administration.
Monitor Admin-related suspense accounts for the region, liaising with the regional Financial Operations and Admin teams to manage and understand outstanding items.
Support other EMEA Financial Control & Operations regular deliverables and projects as applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Professional accountancy qualification e.g. ACCA
Minimum 5 years post qualified experience within a finance function of an insurance/financial services firm or within an internal controls/audit function of a financial services company or accounting firm
Experience of leading and coaching a team
Understanding of USGAAP, IFRS and Sox
Skillset
Ability to collaborate with other employees across different functions and at times, different regions to ensure clarity and understanding of purpose
Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to build strong relationships and work well within a team and individually
