We are working with a well‑established regional main contractor that has secured three live and upcoming building projects in the West Midlands, centred around the Birmingham area. As a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for one or more projects (depending on experience), working closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure strong commercial control and successful delivery. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands‑on with live projects, embedded with delivery teams, rather than operating in a purely freelance or consultancy‑style capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Preparation of valuations, variations, and cost reports
- Cashflow forecasting and cost control
- Subcontractor and supplier relationship management
- Change control and risk/opportunity management
- Supporting commercial governance and reporting
- Working collaboratively with project and site teams to drive value and performance
- Overseeing large refurbs of Police Stations – £15m refurbishments
About You
- Proven experience as a Project QS or Senior QS with a main contractor
- Background in building projects (e.g. commercial, education, healthcare, residential, mixed‑use)
- Comfortable managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness and communication skills
